Ever wonder what happens to that mother with the severely disabled child you used to know? You remember her, she was a Human Resource Manager, Classmate, friend, colleague... Well wonder no longer, you have found her. It's me. I am in my house taking care of my special son, Daniel. And trying to survive... no different than the last 20 years. Except now I am creating new things... since I am not able to work out there in the corporate world with you wonderful people. THIS is what happened to her. LOOK no further. I am Julie Hasselberger, and this is my adapted life.

Being a caregiver, of your own son with special needs, makes "self care" enormously challenging.  I was just trying to rest and recover, and found out that I had no nurse at all coming in to help me. 

I can't put in words, how incredibly difficult this is.

Hi there, Daniel and I attended our first Zoom bible study for special needs persons.  It was really great to sit with Daniel as he listened and observed.  We hope to continue to join in with this group, organized with members of Joanie and Friends, New England.   Much love.
